Howzitgoin'?

OK, just checking in once more. It's a lazy Sunday afternoon (at least until I go to work later), and I actually scored some down time, so I figured I'd visit this place I have here and throw down some blatherings for your (or my) amusement.

So Friday night brought me an issue with my furnace here at the casa. I don't know what the hell is wrong with it (other than it just isn't working properly and I had to go buy a portable heater to keep myself comfortable). I called my landlord twice and left messages twice. He still hasn't called me back. When I do get in touch with him, let's just say that I'm not going to be particularly nice to him. There's really not much of an excuse for not calling me back. He's a real estate agent and I called his cell phone, which we all know those guys have with them 24/7. If I don't hear from him by tomorrow, I'm going to call a heating repair guy myself and my landlord is just going to get a little less rent money next month. Only thing that really sucks here is that I start the overnight shift this week, so the times I'll be available to have somone come over here and fix things will be slim. But I'll see what I can work out. Honestly, this place is great, but I seem to be having issue after issue here. I'll just get through them since my desire to move for a fourth time in a year is slim to none.

Friday night was also not the best night for my Washington Captials. They managed to choke against Atlanta and lose the game. I'll admit that the Thrashers are a pretty good team, but when we get the lead against them, we need to keep the lead. Didn't quite work out that way. Maybe next time. The Caps did, however, manage to redeem themselves against the Flyers Saturday night. Four goals in the first period. Well done, guys. Ended the losing streak we've had in Philly and made the miserable Flyers an even bigger joke. Tough to be a Flyers fan this year, huh? (I'm sure Lisa's Bill is less-than-happy, and Tom, my former roommate and die-hard Philly fan, is probably beside himself). The Philadelphia Flyers: Great on paper, shit on the ice!

I'm looking forward to getting out to a couple of Capitals games in the next month. Going to a game on the 24th against Toronto, which should be pretty fun. Going with a bunch of people and I'm still not sure where the seats are (but I'm pretty sure they won't be in the lower level, which blows). Then, the weekend of my birthday, I'm going to the Caps/Sabres game. Good seats for that one, in Section 103 again. Although I'm a bit nervous about that game since it's, well, you know, Buffalo and they're pretty damn good this year. "Dear Washington Capitals, I know you guys wanted to get together and do something nice for my birthday this year. All I'd like is for you to win against Buffalo. Oh, and maybe a few free beers. Thanks. P."

My musical pick for the week is "Let Love In" by the Goo Goo Dolls. The whole album by that name is kick-ass, but the single, "Let Love In" is a damn fine tune. Check it out.
