Sometimes Life Gets In The Way

I can only apoligize so many times for not posting regularly. I'm sure that any audience I may have had has long since defected to some other site that actually updates its content. Not that I could say I would blame anyone. I probably would, too.

I'm steadily getting back into the swing of working shift work again. Today begins my two-week day shift rotation. I can't stand day shift. I'm not too much of a morning person. Well, that's not entirely true. I don't mind, say, a 7AM rolling-out-of-bed time. But 4AM? Nah, that pretty much blows. But it is what it is. Fortunately, I only have to endure my early morning hell 7 times a month. I always look forward to working nights since I find it much easier to stay awake all night long than to get up at the ass crack of dawn.

OK, enough of me whining about my job. It pays me handsomely, so I really should bitch.

I spent a good bit of time on my past weekend off doing (what else?) work around the hacienda. I've (hopefully) mowed my lawn for the last time this season. I did some more painting and I'm happy to report that it's almost completed. I just have to hit the Home Depot on Wednesday and pick up some paint for one of the spare bedrooms and once that's all finished, I'm freakin' done! I know it seems like I've been painting my house forever, and it certainly feels like it's been that long, but I want to make sure it's all done right and looks great. Any chimp can slap up some paint, but I'm making sure EVERYTHING is done. Walls, ceilings, trim, everything.

Went to a crab feast on Saturday night. It was a pretty good time, and it was for a charity, so not only did I eat well, but I felt good about contributing. Only problem was the beer. Had I known you could've BYOB, I would've. They only had one brew on tap. Began with a "B" and ended in "udweiser." Ugh. Oh well, what are you gonna do?

OK, time for me to get some work done. The new Killers album is good stuff. So is Sam Adams Octoberfest. Adios muchachos!

Quit apologizing, it's not like you don't have a life or something :) I just spend my working life in front of the computer and must now and again kick start my mind lest the demons of monotony, indifference and tedium suck the life from me. You get to spend your day fighting crime, arresting bad guys, and wearing kevlar. Missed you at the home opener, you'd think I would be able to see a 6.5 foot white guy in the section next to me!

Post when you can and stay safe.

GO CAPS!!!
